Written Script for Pgs. 62-63
Below continues the discussion on making comic pages.
In the image at the bottom of the page, you will see a page out of my lined notebook where I've written the script for pages 62 and 63, where Daisuke and Atsushi have a "confrontation".
Besides making sure I follow a general plot outline, I don't take much time over the scripts for each individual page. They are usually done just before I start maping out the drawing, and there is usually not more than one draft beforehand. As you can see from the image, I've gone and added some changes, the most significant being I've spread the dialogue/encounter over two pages from the original one.
Often accompanying the script are sketches/thumbnails of particular scenes or positions I want the characters to end up in. These are usually thought up when I'm initially thinking about how I want the page to look in relation to other comic pages that have come before.
Well, there you have it! My first discussion about pencil sketches before inking didn't get very far, but that's mostly my own fault for not replying to every comment. Gomen!
Please share your thoughts and/or procedure in regards to how you do your scripting for your comic! Arigatou!
