Written Script for Pgs. 62-63

Below continues the discussion on making comic pages.

In the image at the bottom of the page, you will see a page out of my lined notebook where I've written the script for pages 62 and 63, where Daisuke and Atsushi have a "confrontation".

Besides making sure I follow a general plot outline, I don't take much time over the scripts for each individual page. They are usually done just before I start maping out the drawing, and there is usually not more than one draft beforehand. As you can see from the image, I've gone and added some changes, the most significant being I've spread the dialogue/encounter over two pages from the original one.

Often accompanying the script are sketches/thumbnails of particular scenes or positions I want the characters to end up in. These are usually thought up when I'm initially thinking about how I want the page to look in relation to other comic pages that have come before.

Well, there you have it! My first discussion about pencil sketches before inking didn't get very far, but that's mostly my own fault for not replying to every comment. Gomen!

Please share your thoughts and/or procedure in regards to how you do your scripting for your comic! Arigatou!

Your scripts are much more organized than mine. They usually end up being...like, RPs that I play both parts. I.e:

Dorian:"says some words" *action*
Tori: :"says some words" *action*
....and so on. I do mine on the computer, too...so that prolly has something to do with it. XD

I think I should start doing them similar to this, though. XDD

Honestly, I don't really have a script. If there's any "script", it's tucked away in my brain... somewhere.
Oh yeah, I can't get to my PM's, so don't bother sending me one.

Actually, this is the first time I've ever worked with a script...so don't think I'm super organized or anything. LOL!

I just find that since Ai, Kanarazu! is quite a long and involved story, if I didn't keep a script, I wouldn't be able to put down all the ideas I have, and the storyline would just go to hell after awhile.

This story is going to be a multi-volume one, finger's crossed. ^_~

You inspired me to usea script now, but.... I'm lazy and I would always change my mind on things. I wish I could do it-- I used to, but... then I would write a whole chapter of scripts and decide to make it a fictions instead of a manga. It's like "Dang, I already wrote that part, now I have to draw it, too?"

Gawd, I'm lazy.

This is really off subject, BUT today (2-20-07) you were the featured donator comic at the top of the screen! XD

Yay! There are so many donator comics, mine rarely comes up. It's nice to know that it shows up eventually on the donator comic space though. ^__^
